Clinical Services for Adults

Studies have consistently shown that untreated neuropsychological (i.e., learning disabilities, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, post-concussion syndrome, etc.) and psychological disorders (i.e., depression, anxiety, stress-related illnesses, etc.):

(a) are among the leading causes of visits to primary care physicians

(b) are the leading cause of missed days of work

(c) result in prolongation of illnesses and hospital stays

While the annual costs of untreated neuropsychological and psychological disorders to individuals, employers and communities have been estimated to exceed 10% of existing budgets, the even greater impact is generational effects with replication of the same negative family systems and home environments and perpetuation of the same problems.

In contrast to this overwhelming data, neuropsychological and psychological assessment and treatment services have often been relegated to second class status and tend to be neglected or absent in communities.  Neuropsychological Services evolved in response to existing community problems.
